Irvine High School 20 Year Reunion

On my 35th birthday, I joined the class of Irvine High at Sutra in Newport Beach to shoot their 20th reunion. The highlight of the evening was Richard Blade kicking out some tunes! I tell ya, he looks great, and played the best music!  Everyone was a bit star struck by him.  The committee asked Richard to announce that it was my birthday, and played "99 Red Balloons" for me....turns out I was outside enjoying a cocktail and didn't even hear it!  Doh!  I eventually put down the camera and danced to Richard's fabulous music - pretty great birthday :)  Thanks for inviting me Shane, and the rest of the committee.

The sun was setting, and the best light was hitting the club. Gotta love those Newport sunsets!

Our scheme to get everyone on the dance floor - "Okay, Group Picture!!" Now dance!

I was slightly upstaged by a photobooth.  Loved to watch everyone strike cheesy poses!

My sweetest, dearest Lisa always by my side helping and supporting me.  What would I do without you? Dance alone??? :)

Love you friend!

Sweet Baby Girl

My friend Katja has a new baby girl, and she is so precious!  Her timing was perfect - my baby girl is only a little bit older, so Katja scored with some great baby clothes :)

There's no better feeling in the world than holding your precious little angel in your arms.  Love seeing a new mom with her baby, it sincerely is true love.  Looking at these makes me want to go wake up my baby girl and hold her!  But I won't....

ahhh, sleep tight little one....

Shannon and Jason

What a great way to end a week, than with an awesome photo shoot! My friends Shannon and Jason are getting married in Spring 2010, and I feel privileged to play a part in this enormous time of their lives.

These two make a really great couple, and both have a warmth about them that makes you feel like you have known them forever. Love love love that!

Some of my most favorite moments in weddings and engagement portraits is when there is a genuinely loving moment shared between two people....and I capture it. That's what these shoots are all about! I was kind of far back from them for this shot , but was able to see their faces after I cropped.

Love that early evening warmth......

Thank you Shannon and Jason :)

Thanks for stopping by.....

Photography is so many things to me....it's communication, it's a stopping of time, it's magic, it's art, it's a memory, it's a feeling, it's real life. I love seeing a picture and feeling an emotion from it -no matter the feeling - happy, sad, indifferent. I am probably more of a "happy photography seeker," with a huge appreciation of all of the other feelings.

Thanks for stopping by, and keep checking back...
